DripCatch™ and Sodexo Collaborate On Pilot Programs with Major Universities
SEATTLE, March 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DripCatch, Inc. announced today that it has teamed up with Sodexo, Inc. to commence pilot programs at two prominent Northwest universities and certain of Sodexo's other institutional customers.
The University of Washington and Seattle Pacific University began incorporating DripCatch units in their food & beverage operations earlier this month. According to Kerwin Higashi, Sodexo's Vice-President of West Coast Operations & Hawaii, "We see DripCatch as an inexpensive way for our customers to significantly reduce slip & fall incidents in their operations. It's also an efficient tool for almost any operations involving glass racks and dollies. It just makes sense."
When asked for her initial response to the DripCatch pilot program, Kim Kartens, General Manager of food and beverage services at Seattle Pacific University, said, "The only problem is that we don't have enough DC units to cover everything."
In addition to the two universities mentioned above, DripCatch pilot program participants include select Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, Crowne Plaza, Embassy Suites, Holiday Inns and Fairmont hotels. Participating restaurants include select Red Robin, Applebee's, T.G.I. Friday's and Seattle favorites, Daniel's Broiler, Ivar's and several Tom Douglas restaurants.

About DripCatch
When business student Alexandra Abraham slipped on a wet hotel kitchen floor while catering an event, she resolved to fix the problem for commercial kitchens everywhere. Taking a leave from Seattle University's Albers School of Business, Alexandra designed, patented and prototyped a product that would prevent excess water from leaking or spilling from glass racks. Now in production at Cashmere Molding, a green manufacturing plant in Woodinville, WA, DripCatch™ is being hailed as an effective and affordable way to dramatically reduce the slip-and-fall incidents and as a huge time saver for ice/water prep and busing. DripCatch units are fully compatible with nearly all glass racks and dollies used in the food & beverage industry. Alexandra was selected by Forbes as one of nine "All Star Student Entrepreneurs for 2012."
