Dream On: Service Experts' $25,000 "Experts Creating Experts" Contest Brings in Inspiring Entries

DALLAS, Aug. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Entries are piling in to the Experts Creating Experts Contest, sponsored by Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning.  The contest, open through September 30, awards $25,000 to gain expertise and training in an area you're passionate about.  From becoming an expert iceberg explorer to a nature photographer, people from across the U.S. and Canada have been submitting their passion in hopes of making it happen.

"As one of North America's largest heating and air conditioning brands, we are committed to being experts in home comfort," said Dave Moody, director of marketing for Service Experts. "This contest is a way to help someone else gain expertise in a field they are passionate about."

So far, entries range from the ordinary to the extraordinary:

• Cat in Winnipeg dreams of opening a mountain bike riding camp. "I've experienced personally, and witnessed first hand the change and empowerment that mountain biking can do for women."
• Janice from Missouri is a retired teacher, ready for her second act! "I now have time to pursue a life-long goal of becoming a professional cake decorator. I am self-taught and have provided over 25 beautiful wedding cakes to family and friends."
• Shauna in Alberta hopes to become an expert in cartoon voice-overs. "I need to fund a demo and a trip to LA to audition. I have everything lined up - just can't afford to go. My son has special needs so all our resources go towards medication and therapy. To hopefully one day voice my son's favorite cartoon would be the best thing to ever happen to me!"
• Bob in Dallas pictures himself as a portrait photographer. "I will use the winnings to get my masters degree in photography. I want to pursue this to help people capture memories of their loved ones and families."

"We encourage people to dream big and be creative with their entries," said Moody. "Send us samples of your art, or a video of you playing the guitar. We want to see just how passionate you are."
