An independent panel of judges, chaired by His Serene Highness, selected Drayson Technologies as winner of the award for Excellence in the Field of Technology Commercialisation.
The awards were sculptures created by Swiss contemporary artist, Peter Regli.
Drayson Technologies is focused on providing "world-first" solutions for health and the environment. Led by former UK Science Minister, Lord Drayson, it has pioneered environmentally sustainable technologies since 2007.
Mungo Park, Chairman of Innovator Capital commented: "The World Health Organisation and the Royal College of Physicians consider air pollution to be the world's greatest single environmental health risk. Drayson Technologies is tackling this issue head on with the work it is doing with Freevolt and CleanSpace. The approach is novel and the data generated will inspire and empower individuals to improve the air quality around them."
Freevolt is the company's latest technology breakthrough. It recycles radio frequency energy in existing wireless network transmissions, such as wi-fi and cellular networks, to power connected devices and to realise the full potential of the internet of things by freeing them from the constraints of batteries and wired power supplies.
The CleanSpace Tag is a personal air pollution smart sensor and the first product to be powered by Freevolt. It works in conjunction with the CleanSpace app interface to provide a continuous measurement of air quality wherever they are.
Lord (Paul) Drayson, Founder & CEO of Drayson Technologies said: "We are honoured to win this award. Air pollution is a critical concern to every individual's health and now, more than ever, people want to understand the quality of the air around them. In the Freevolt powered CleanSpace Tag we have created a consumer product that enables people to measure, understand and avoid air pollution in real-time."
CleanEquity thanks, in particular: Covington & Burling, Parkview Group, Deloitte, PR Newswire, Cranfield University, INNEON, Gillamor Stephens, Enereau, the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, Monaco Economic Board and the Société des Bains de Mer de Monaco.
