SAN FRANCISCO, April 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) this May are holding a series of nine open houses across the Bay Area and invite residents to share their ideas on the Draft Plan Bay Area 2040, the long-range regional transportation and land use strategy slated for adoption in July 2017. The first two open houses will be held next Thursday evening, May 4, in Fremont and in Redwood City.
Each open house will feature multiple stations at which participants will be able to view displays; ask questions; and offer comments on the Draft Plan's goals, proposed growth patterns, transportation investment strategy, and key actions identified to address ongoing and long-term regional challenges. Three public hearings also are opportunities for interested residents to comment on the Draft Plan and the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for Plan Bay Area 2040, which was released on April 17, along with a Draft Transportation-Air Quality Conformity Analysis for Draft Plan Bay Area 2040 and Amended 2017 Transportation Improvement Program, scheduled for release May 1. Comments will be reviewed by officials from both agencies as they consider the adoption of the final Plan Bay Area 2040, slated for July 2017.
