Dr. Yong Zhao, Noted Author and Scholar, to Speak at Walden University Academic Residency
Address to students on June 1 in Phoenix will focus on globalization and technology in education
MINNEAPOLIS, May 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Yong Zhao, internationally known scholar, author and speaker whose works focus on the implications of globalization and technology on education, will address more than 600 doctoral students at Walden University's academic residency on Saturday, June 1, at the Phoenix Convention Center.

Dr. Zhao has designed schools that cultivate global competence, developed computer games for language learning and founded research and development institutions to explore innovative education models. He has written and published more than 100 articles and 20 books, including Catching Up or Leading the Way: American Education in the Age of Globalization and World Class Learners: Educating Creative and Entrepreneurial Students. He was a recipient of the Early Career Award from the American Educational Research Association and was named one of Tech & Learning's most influential in EdTech.
Dr. Zhao is an elected fellow of the International Academy for Education. He currently serves as the presidential chair and associate dean for global education in the University of Oregon College of Education, where he is also Weinman Professor of Technology and a professor in the Department of Educational Measurement, Policy, and Leadership.
