BERLIN, Nov. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Order of St. Andrew the Apostle, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate announced today that Dr. William Antholis, Professor Ergun Ozbudun and Mustafa Akyol will join a world-renowned group of speakers and panelists at the 2nd Archon International Conference on Religious Freedom set to take place at the Adlon Hotel in Berlin, Germany on December 4-5, 2013.

Taking place in the shadow of the Brandenburg Gate, the theme of the Conference is "Tearing Down Walls: Achieving Religious Equality in Turkey." Topics will focus on religious freedom issues affecting minorities in Turkey stressing the concepts of equality, state neutrality and pluralism as they relate to religious freedom and the status of religious freedom under Turkey's current and proposed new constitutions.
Dr. William J. Antholis is the Managing Director of the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC. He has served at the White House, The United States Department of State and at the National Security Council where he was the Director of International Economic Affairs. He is the author of a new book, Inside Out, India and China: Local Politics Go Global.
Professor Ergun Ozbudun, PhD is the professor of constitutional law and political science at Istanbul Sehir University. He is a member of the Venice Commission on the Council of Europe and the author of the book Party Politics and Social Cleavages in Turkey.
Mustafa Akyol is a columnist for two Turkish newspapers, Hurriyet Daily News and Star. He is also the author of the widely acclaimed book, Islam Without Extremes: A Muslim Case for Liberty.
