Dr. W. E. "Ed" Bosarge Receives the 2018 Leadership Award at the World Stem Cell Summit (WSCS) in Miami, Florida

In presenting the prestigious award, Bernard Siegel, founder of the WSCS and the Executive Director of RMF, described Dr. Bosarge as a bridge builder as well as a man of action and vision. "We are grateful for the opportunity to honor one of the true pioneers and visionaries of regenerative medicine. Dr. Bosarge is a hero. Dr. Bosarge paid special recognition to the executive team at BBLS, led by Dr. Marc Penn, who has helped focus efforts in research, in treating patients and in recruiting world-class talent. He also acknowledged Dr. Vincent Burton, President of the Okyanos Center for Regenerative Medicine in Freeport, Bahamas, as well as the team of doctors and nurses there. Okyanos is part of the BBLS portfolio of companies, bringing novel stem cell treatments to patients with chronic conditions and diseases.

Dr. Bosarge joined four other honorees selected for the Regenerative Medicine Foundation (RMF) 2018 Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Action Awards. They included former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden (Advocacy Award) Shelly Ross and the Cure Alliance (Advocacy Award), Sickle Cell and stem cell advocate Adrienne Bel-Cors Shapiro (Inspiration Award) and Professor Norio Nakatsuji, the Founding Director of the Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences (iCeMS) at Kyoto University in Japan (International Leadership Award). Each year, RMF celebrates the stem cell and regenerative medicine community's top innovators, leaders, and champions.
