DeBerardino, M.D. is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Top Orthopedic Surgeon as a result of his vast success within the field of Sports Medicine. Dr. DeBerardino is an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery with the University of Connecticut Health Center.

In his current role, Dr. DeBerardino specializes in Sports Medicine; Arthroscopic Surgery of the Knee, Hip and Shoulder; Management of Complex Injuries of the Knee and Shoulder; Arthroscopic Management of Hip Impingement in Young Active Adults; Hip Arthroscopic Procedures to avoid the Development of Arthritis and Osteotomies; as well as Cartilage Repair Procedures to Limit Degeneration of the Knee Joint.

Prior to joining the University of Connecticut Health Center, Dr. DeBerardino spent eight years at the United States Military Academy where he was the Head Team Physician for the collegiate athletic teams and Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship program. In addition, he served as the Team Physician for UConn athletic teams including football and the men's and women's basketball programs, as well as for the UFL Hartford Colonials football team.

Additionally, Dr. DeBerardino is the author of over 40 scientific articles on ligament, tendon and cartilage injuries of the knee and shoulder and serves as a journal reviewer for several professional journals. Both Dr. DeBerardino skills in writing and talent in the field of Orthopedic Surgery have earned him numerous awards and honors.
