Dr. Thomas H. Lee Named Chief Medical Officer Of Press Ganey
SOUTH BEND, Ind., April 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Press Ganey Associates, Inc. announced today that Dr. Thomas H. Lee will join Press Ganey as chief medical officer. Dr. Lee joins Press Ganey from Partners HealthCare, a not-for-profit, integrated health care delivery system in Boston where he was network president and chief executive officer for Partners Community HealthCare, Inc.
Dr. Lee, a practicing physician, health care executive, and published author, brings more than three decades of clinical experience to Press Ganey and has contributed significant leadership and research to improving patient care and outcomes. As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Lee will help providers identify performance opportunities across the continuum of care through targeted analytics and drive cultural change with greater physician and employee alignment.

As network president for Partners HealthCare and CEO for Partners Community HealthCare, Dr. Lee oversaw efforts to improve the quality and efficiency of care. Partners Community HealthCare is affiliated with more than 1,000 internists, pediatricians and family practice physicians and more than 3,500 specialists, providing care to more than 1.5 million patients.

Dr. Lee frequently lectures on the patient experience and has authored more than 250 academic articles and two books, Chaos and Organization in Health Care and Eugene Braunwald and the Rise of Modern Medicine to be published later this year. Dr. Lee has been a professor at Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health, as well as an associate editor of the New England Journal of Medicine.
In addition to his role as CMO of Press Ganey, Dr. Lee will continue to serve on the Panel of Health Advisors for the Congressional Budget Office, the Special Medical Advisory Group for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the National Leadership Council of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Dr. Lee also serves on the Board of Directors of Geisinger Health System, an integrated health services organization providing care to more than 2.6 million patients in Pennsylvania. Dr. Lee will continue to practice primary care one morning each week in Greater Boston, as he has for nearly 35 years.
Dr. Lee is a graduate of Harvard College, received his medical degree from the Cornell University Medical School, and holds a master's in science in epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health.
Dr. Lee assumes his role on July 1, 2013.
