Dr. Richard Merkin, President and CEO, Heritage Provider Network, Celebrates Grand Opening of Sierra Medical Group's New Facility in Palmdale
MARINA DEL REY, Calif., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Richard Merkin, President and CEO of Heritage Provider Network was the master of ceremonies of the Grand Opening of Sierra Medical Group's new facility in Palmdale. Numerous City officials were in attendance and part of the ceremony including The Honorable James Ledford, Mayor of Palmdale, many members of the City Council and Chamber of Commerce.
The new 20,000 square foot facility located at the Palmdale Corporate Center, is state-of-the-art, completely technology driven, integrating electronic medical records with fully integrated electronic vital sign measurements, lab testing, radiology and e-prescribing, all to ensure fully coordinated care. This gives SMG the edge and opportunity to collect and consolidate records, allowing the primary care provider to have quick access to years of information, in essence, empowering them to become the family doctor that patients deserve, but is sadly disappearing from the medical practice sector.
"The SMG facility is tangible evidence of our dedication to the High Desert community dating back decades," said Dr. Richard Merkin, President and CEO of Heritage Provider Network "We are committed to supporting the population of Palmdale and Lancaster with cutting edge healthcare, including creating new jobs at SMG for the community. We have built a facility where some of the best doctors can serve the community and improve life for the citizens of Antelope Valley," he continued. "We are very proud of our staff at SMG for stepping up to the plate taking SMG in 20 short months after acquisition from an operation with no technology to a totally technology driven accountable care organization serving the great city of Palmdale."
"This new facility is fabulous," said The Honorable James Ledford, Mayor of Palmdale. "This creates an opportunity for you to grow with us, this building represents the new synergy that is developing in our area." Ledford noted it is part of an emerging grouping of medical offices and services popping up around the new Palmdale Regional Medical Center, a $200 million, 127 bed hospital expected to open later this year.
"The key to healthcare is to connect with the patient," said Dr. Tuan Phan, SMG's Medical Director. "This building facilitates that connection."
