Dr. Randall Kroszner to Kick-Off Advantage Futures 2010 Seminar Series

Bobins Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago and former member of the Board of Governors of the U.S. Federal Reserve System, will speak at the first 2010 Seminar Series event on January 26, 2010. Randall S. Kroszner served as Governor of the Federal Reserve System from March 2006 until January 2009. During his time as a member of the Federal Reserve Board, he chaired the committee on Supervision and Regulation of Banking Institutions and the committee on Consumer and Community Affairs. In these capacities, he played a lead role in developing responses to the financial crisis and in undertaking new initiatives to improve consumer protection and disclosure, including composing rules related to home mortgages and credit cards. He also served as director of NeighborWorks America. In addition, Dr. Kroszner represented the Federal Reserve Board on the Financial Stability Forum and the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. As a member of the Board, he was a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee. Dr. Kroszner graduated magna cum laude with a Sc.B. in applied mathematics-economics from Brown University in 1984, followed by an M.A. (1987) and Ph.D. (1990), both in economics, from Harvard University.
