Dr. Michael T. Parra is recognized by Continental Who's Who

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo., Feb. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Continental Who's Who recognizes Dr. Michael T. Parra as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in recognition of his contributions to the Medical field.

Dr. Parra brings over 30 years of experience to his role as Hematologist and Oncologist at Rocky Mountain Health & Benefits, where he has worked for three years. He utilizes his expertise in clinical research, internal medicine, hematology, oncology, healthcare consulting, mentoring and public speaking—particularly with a focus on the environment.

Beginning his medical career at San Jose State University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and Toxicology, Dr. Parra has amassed several impressive accomplishments on his resume. He went on to earn his Medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine, completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin and then earned a Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.

Dr. Parra's accomplishments do not stop with his education. As the Owner and Chief Medical Officer of Denver Cancer Care for nearly 19 years, he was named one of 5280 Magazine's Best of the Best Doctors in All Specialties, State of Colorado, three times between 2001 and 2006. He also was named Physician of the Year by the National Congressional Committee in 2008. After selling his practice and moving on to working as a consultant for several smaller practices, he was named awarded the Top Doctor Award for National-Medical Oncology and Hematology.

To further his professional development, Dr. Parra is affiliated with the American Board of Medical Oncology and the American Board of Medical Oncology. He is also the Vice chairman and a Board Member of Colorado Hispanic Republicans. 

When not working, Dr. Parra enjoys hiking, biking, fishing, shooting, playing tennis and spending time with family. He dedicates this recognition to his entire family—including his parents, sisters, wife and children—and also to Dr. William Robinson MD, Ph.D., and Dr. J. Frederick Kolhouse, MD.
