Dr. Marianne T. Sweetser Recognized by Strathmore's Who's Who Worldwide Publication

SYOSSET, N.Y., Dec. 30, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Marianne T. Sweetser, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, has been included in the Strathmore's Who's Who Worldwide Edition for her outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of biopharmaceuticals.

ABOUT DR. MARIANNE T. SWEETSER

Dr. Sweetser currently works at Biogen Idec, Inc., where she serves as Senior Director and is responsible for the safety of all products including patient safety information and writing annual safety reports.  She conducts clinical trials in neurology and immunology and provides strategic advice on Protopal.  She also serves as a Senior Approver for all regulatory documents.  Dr. Sweetser's career began at Stanford University, where she earned a B.S. with Honors in Medical Microbiology and an M.S. in Biological Sciences.  In 1990, she received an M.D. and a Ph.D. in Immunology from Washington State University in St. Louis.  She completed her residency in pediatrics at St. Louis Children's Hospital and is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.  Dr. Sweetser completed fellowships in pediatric immunology with a focus on primary immunodeficiency, laboratory diagnostic immunology and allergy and immunology at the University of Washington in Seattle.  She is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.  After serving on the faculty at the University of Washington, she began working at Biogen in 2002.  Dr. Sweetser has published numerous publications, articles and papers and speaks at various symposiums.  She is the Chair at the Clinical Trial Review Board and is a member of the American Association of Immunologists and the American Academy of Pediatrics.  She currently resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she enjoys swimming, playing the piano, reading and travel.
