Dr. Leland Babitch Named President and CEO of MPRO

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., July 11, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Dr. Leland A. Babitch, M.D., MBA, has been named president and CEO of MPRO, Michigan's preeminent health care quality improvement organization, effective July 1, 2016. Prior to joining MPRO, Dr. Babitch served as an executive medical director at The Advisory Board Company. Dr. Babitch succeeds Robert J. Yellan, MPH, J.D., FACHE, who retired in February 2016.

While at The Advisory Board Company, Dr. Babitch worked with healthcare systems, provider groups, and others to leverage technology to improve healthcare at the point of service. He has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry.

Dr. Babitch has previously held positions as the chief medical information officer at the Detroit Medical Center, a medical director with United Healthcare, and as a pediatric clinician and teacher at Wayne State and the Children's Hospital of Michigan, where he continues to practice. He began his career as a general pediatrician in the St. Louis area.

Dr. Babitch is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine, and completed his residency in pediatrics at St. Louis Children's Hospital. He is board certified in both pediatrics and medical informatics. He earned his undergraduate degree in Genetics and Developmental Biology from Northwestern University also holds an MBA from Michigan State University.
