Dr. Kimberly Juanell Pettaway Willis is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Professional
RALEIGH, N.C., March 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- / Continental Who's Who/ Dr. Kimberly Juanell Pettaway Willis is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Professional as a result of her role as Founder and CEO of Kolorz of Cancer presented by Cor'Rae, LLC (KOC), which specializes in providing awareness of and information about various types of cancers and the ribbon colors associated with those cancer types.
Kolorz of Cancer presented by Cor'Rae provides information about various cancers and their ribbon colors, symptoms of different cancers, and more information is provided at events by guest speakers with knowledgeable cancer research and experience in their perspective fields. One of the most important and distinguished elements of KOC is the CEO wanted to focus on the different ribbon colors for each different cancer, hence the name of the business and the logo for the company. Each letter of "Kolorz" represents a different type of cancer; Lavender (all cancers), Pink (Breast Cancer), Multi-Colored (All), Lime Green (Lymphoma), Blue (Colon Cancer), and the Zebra Stripes (Carcinoid).
Dr. Willis' focus and mission is to plan and execute many informative awareness events, in different cities, to discuss the purpose of Kolorz of Cancer, recognize survivors of any type of cancer and anyone affected by cancer; Dr. Willis has recently been affected (11.24.2013) by cancer with the death of her 35 year old cousin-in-law to breast cancer. The founder is able to raise funds through ticket sales of events, merchandise sales, and book sales; more devotionals focusing on specific cancers are in the works now. Dr. Kimberly Willis uses these funds by donating to different cancer research missions, giving to cancer charities and smaller research companies in various areas, and presenting families of cancer patients (or a cancer patient without a family). These donations, especially to the families of cancer patients and/or actual cancer patients with limited family support, are extremely helpful to pay for medications, bills, or anything…just to make their lives a little better. The First Annual Kolorz of Cancer presented by Cor'Rae Donation Ceremony was held January 2013. The Second Annual Ceremony will be at a later date in 2014.
In November of 2012, Dr. Willis partnered with her Aunt and client, Lisa Pettaway Whitaker, her beloved "sister," LaQuanta P Knight, and AuthorHouse Publishing to create a powerful poetry devotional titled "Cancer…Teardrops Beneath the Kolorz of the Rainbow~ A Poetry Devotional to Uplift the Heart, Mind, and Soul," which is a book of poetry to reach anyone who has been affected by cancer. Upon flipping the pages, readers may relate the text to their life experiences with cancer. An especially unique aspect of the book is that after reading each poem, the readers are encouraged to write their own daily devotional. Reflecting on the development of the devotional, Dr. Willis stated, "We (Kimberly, Lisa and LaQuanta) were excited to develop a product that was based on passion, although it was an extremely tedious process, BUT the vision was completed and published."
Dr. Willis gave her client the task to write all poetry for the devotional while she was responsible for all editing, designing the cover, writing all original quotes after each poem, as well as writing the introduction and conclusion of the book. The cancer devotional was dedicated (months before her death) to the strength and fight of Mrs. LaQuanta Pittman Knight, Kimberly's "Sissy Pooh" /cousin-in-law who was more of a sister, who passed five days before her 36th birthday. LaQuanta was the wife of Dr. Willis' first cousin, but always referred to as her brother Kentay Knight, with whom she shares a very close bond. Cancer…we need to find a cure.
