Dr. Harry G. Broadman, Former White House Trade Negotiator, Joins PwC as Managing Director in the Firm's Advisory Practice
Broadman's economics background and extensive global experience in emerging markets will complement PwC's Emerging Markets, Governance, and International Investment & Trade practice group
NEW YORK, June 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Harry G. Broadman has joined PwC US as Managing Director in PwC's Advisory practice and will serve as Chief Economist and Leader of the Emerging Markets, Governance, and International Investment & Trade practice group - part of PwC's Forensics Services. He will focus on helping clients develop and implement strategies and processes to help them seize market opportunities, mitigate risks, solve policy challenges and improve commercial and economic performance. Dr. Broadman will be based in PwC's Washington, D.C. office.

Prior to joining PwC, Dr. Broadman led two practices – one focused on Africa and South-South commerce and the other on governance, anti-corruption and development - at Albright Stonebridge, a global consultancy co-chaired by former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and National Security Advisor Sandy Berger. He also served as Chief Economist of Albright Capital Management, a registered emerging markets investment management firm.
Previously, Dr. Broadman held a variety of positions at the World Bank, working in China, throughout all the former Soviet Union republics, the Balkans, India and Africa. Prior to his position at the World Bank, he served as Assistant U.S. Trade Representative; Chief of Staff on the President's Council of Economic Advisers; and Chief Economist of the U.S. Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs.
Dr. Broadman has also served on the faculties of Harvard and Johns Hopkins Universities. He was Assistant Director of Resources for the Future, Inc., Fellow at the Brookings Institution, and Consultant at the Rand Corporation.
Dr. Broadman obtained a B.A, magna cum laude, from Brown University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. An author of numerous professional articles and several books, he is a Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, The Bretton Woods Committee, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Global Business School Network.
