Dr. Erik Brady Leads Intensive Session at the Alliance for CME's 36th Annual Conference
RESTON, Va., March 2, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Clinical Care Options (CCO), a leader in the development of innovative online, print, and live medical education for healthcare professionals, is pleased to announce that Director of Marketing, Erik Brady, PhD, led a half-day, paid, intensive session at the Alliance for CME's 36th Annual Conference titled "Advanced Program Analysis: Practical Methods to Quantify Learning."
This talk was in response to the struggles from multiple CME providers expressed during last year's conference that they lacked experience analyzing their programs against their mission, which is the stated goal of ACCME criterion 12.
"Most providers were sending out stakeholder surveys in support of that particular criterion, but they didn't seem to realize that all of the data that they were collecting from their educational activities and interventions could be used to analyze their overall program," Dr. Brady said. "So we built a session that focused on how to write competence-based question items that would dovetail into higher levels of outcomes and then offered practical methods for goal definition and data analysis in support of the goal of meeting criterion 12."
Response was exceptional. The session was attended by a diverse mix of CME professionals representing all of the Alliance's 8 member sections. Several opportunities for in-session practice were offered, which allowed learners to immediately apply the methods presented.
"We certainly aren't surprised that Erik's intensive was one of the more talked-about sessions at the Alliance this year," said Linda Coogle, President of Clinical Care Options. "Erik is very passionate about outcomes measurement and is dedicated to helping other CME professionals advance their methods in this area. He is a dynamic speaker who is highly skilled in facilitating interactivity."
"CCO believes in doing what we can to support the CME enterprise," said Jeffrey Drezner, MD, PhD, CEO of Clinical Care Options. "Erik is an invaluable internal resource when it comes to crafting questions to assess the impact of our cutting-edge educational programs. We are always delighted when a member of our team can serve as a subject matter expert for the rest of the CME community."
