Dr. Elias Strangas Named Editor-in-Chief of SAE International Electronics/Electrical Systems Technical Journal
WARRENDALE, Pa., Feb. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SAE International has appointed Dr. Elias Strangas as editor-in-chief for its SAE International Journal of Passenger Cars-Electronics and Electrical Systems. He began the three-year volunteer position in January.
Dr. Strangas is an associate professor of mechanical engineering at Michigan State University. His research interests include electromagnetic energy conversion, including numerical methods for the calculation of fields and machine parameters; design of electrical machines, design of electrical drives and drive controllers; control of electrical drives with minimal sensors; fault diagnosis and prognosis of electrical drive systems; drive system reliability; electric and hybrid powertrain analysis. Dr. Strangas earned a Dipl. Eng. in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Greece; and a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
