Dr. David Stockwell Joins Pascal Metrics as Vice President of Clinical Services
Nationally recognized quality improvement authority brings safety and reliability expertise in pediatric critical care and risk management to leading Patient Safety Organization
WASHINGTON, April 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Pascal Metrics, a leading Patient Safety Organization (PSO) that specializes in using real- and near real-time clinical data to improve the safety and reliability of care, today announced that Dr. David Stockwell has joined the company as vice president of clinical services. Dr. Stockwell, a nationally known expert in the development and use of clinical triggers, will contribute in this role to the continued development and implementation of Pascal's patient safety solutions, which rely on robust clinical data to generate reliable measures of harm.

Prior to joining Pascal, Dr. Stockwell was the executive director of improvement science and the medical director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., where he led efforts to comprehend and prioritize high quality results and sustained care. A nationally recognized quality improvement expert, Dr. Stockwell is certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt.

Dr. Stockwell co-leads a national research effort funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to develop a state-of-the-art pediatric patient safety measurement system. He is the leader of the Automated Adverse Event Detection Collaborative, a group of children's hospitals across the United States investigating automated adverse event detection. Dr. Stockwell has been named among the "Best Doctors in America," a peer-reviewed database of the top 5 percent of U.S. physicians, every year since 2007.
Dr. Stockwell was educated in medicine at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and is board certified in pediatric medicine and pediatric critical care. He also earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Kansas and an MBA from The George Washington University.
