Dr. Centeno will speak during the NFL Physicians Society Annual Scientific Session, held in conjunction with the NFL Scouting Combine, on Thursday evening, February 25, at the Marriott Downtown Indianapolis.
Dr. Centeno's goal in explaining stem cells for the treatment of orthopedic injuries to team physicians is to enable them to confidently educate their players about how this technology can best be used to keep them in the game. Dr. Centeno states, "Regenexx® has seen its share of NFL athletes throughout the years, helping them to return to play with stem cell injections. So I'm honored this year to be an invited speaker." One of those NFL athletes is two-time Super Bowl champion, Jarvis Green. After pain and struggle following knee surgeries, Green was able to return to form following a Regenexx® stem cell procedure. A video of his gripping story can be viewed below.
Christopher Centeno, MD is an international expert and specialist in regenerative medicine and the clinical use of mesenchymal stem cells in orthopedics. Dr. Centeno maintains an active research-based practice and has multiple publications listed in the US National Library of Medicine. He has also served as editor-in-chief of a medical research journal dedicated to traumatic injury and is one of the few physicians in the world with extensive experience in the culture expansion of and clinical use of adult stem cells to treat orthopedic injuries.
The NFL Scouting Combine is a invitation-only camp held each February where over three hundred of the nation's best college football players participate in drills and interviews. All 32 NFL teams will have executives, coaching staff, medical personnel, and other team personnel on site to evaluate college players who are eligible for the upcoming NFL Draft. The 2016 NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Tuesday, February 23, through Monday, February 29. Though the event is closed to the general public, drafted fans can get tickets to some events.
