Dr. Bradley Gilbert Named New Board Member of the California Association of Health Plans
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., April 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) announced today that their Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Bradley Gilbert, has been appointed as a Member of the Board of the California Association of Health Plans (CAHP), an association representing 39 California health plans. Approved by CAHP's board (of public and private health plans), Dr. Gilbert's term begins June 1, 2010.
Leading one of the largest not-for-profit public health plans in California, Dr. Gilbert is the first Member of the Board appointed from the Inland Empire. With an enrollment of more than 440,000 Members and a provider network of 700 primary care physicians and 1,300 specialists, Dr. Gilbert has been a critical component of the successful growth and operations of IEHP.
Under his leadership, IEHP also became the first Medi-Cal HMO in California to earn Excellent Accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), the nation's leading health plan monitoring organization.

Dr. Gilbert received both his bachelor's degree in Physiology/Anatomy and a master's degree in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley. He earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego and is Board Certified in General Preventive Medicine.
