Dr. Bill Leffler to Discuss Offshore Oil Industry at Bush Library and Museum Issues Forum
COLLEGE STATION, Texas, Jan. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Author and oil industry expert William Leffler will address the past, present and future of the offshore oil industry at a free issues forum Jan. 16 at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum at Texas A&M University.
Leffler is co-author of "Deepwater Petroleum Exploration & Production: A Nontechnical Guide," which was described by the publisher PennWell Publishing as "…the most comprehensive and authoritative text available on the business, engineering, and technology side of this multi-billion dollar industry... extensive coverage of all aspects of deepwater operations—including historic background and an outlook to future deepwater operations."

Leffler earned his MBA and PhD at New York University and his BS at M.I.T. Following a 36-year career with Royal Dutch/Shell in the upstream, downstream and petrochemicals business, he became a writer and consultant. During his career he spent time in refining, marketing, petrochemicals and corporate planning in the United States, and in exploration and production in London. He has had numerous articles published, many in petroleum journals. He is also the author of "Petroleum Refining in Nontechnical Language," "Petrochemicals in Nontechnical Language," "Oil & Gas Production in Nontechnical Language" and "Romancing the Scone: Finding Our Way in a Land Full of Brits."
