Dr. Arthur C. Jee Voted President-elect of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons
ROSEMONT, Ill., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Arthur C. Jee, DMD, of Laurel, Md., was voted president-elect of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons during the Association's 92nd Annual Meeting, Scientific Sessions and Exhibition in Chicago, Illinois, September 27 – October 2, 2010. Prior to his election, Dr. Jee served a one-year term as the association's vice president, and from 2005 – 2009, he served two terms on the AAOMS Board of Trustees as the District II trustee, representing the oral and maxillofacial surgeons of Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Air Force, Army and Navy.

Dr. Jee is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and an AAOMS fellow. A delegate to the AAOMS House of Delegates for nearly 10 years prior to his terms as trustee, he was named 2004 Committee Person of the Year in recognition of his service on the AAOMS Committee on Continuing Education and Professional Development, which plans and oversees implementation of all association professional continuing education programs.
In addition to AAOMS, Dr. Jee has been treasurer, parliamentarian and speaker of the Maryland State Dental Society; past president of the Maryland Society of OMS, and a member of the executive board of the Middle Atlantic Society of OMS. His professional affiliations include the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, International Society of Cleft Lip/Palate, American Dental Society of Anesthesiologists and Academy of Osseointegration. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine and Dentistry, and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC.
More than 5,000 registrants, including oral and maxillofacial surgeons from around the world, attended the AAOMS Annual Meeting where they conducted association business, discussed surgical procedures, earned continuing education credits and met with dental industry suppliers.
