Douglas W. Nakajima Joins WeiserMazars' Philadelphia Office

NEW YORK, April 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- WeiserMazars LLP is pleased to announce that Douglas W. Nakajima has joined the firm as a Principal in its Philadelphia office. An industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in the public and private sectors, Mr. Nakajima has advised a wide variety of U.S. and foreign clients on domestic and international tax issues and strategies. He also possesses extensive knowledge dealing with the Internal Revenue Service from the examination and appeals levels, as well as the IRS national office. Mr. Nakajima will focus on expanding WeiserMazars' international tax and global restructuring practice and will offer a variety of transactional advisory services.

Mr. Nakajima comes to WeiserMazars from LECG-SMART, where he served as Practice Leader for the firm's International Tax Services Group. Prior to joining SMART in 1998, he was a Senior Tax Manager at Coopers & Lybrand, where he was responsible for transactional tax analysis, planning and due diligence for corporate acquisitions, divestitures and restructurings, and general tax consulting for a diverse client base that included publicly-traded, multinational manufacturing companies, large closely-held corporations, investment banking groups, and high tech industry companies. Previously, he served as Tax Counsel for Sun Company, Inc. (now Sunoco, Inc.).
