Douglas K. Chia Appointed New Executive Director of The Conference Board Governance Center
NEW YORK, Jan. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Conference Board today announced that Douglas K. Chia will join The Conference Board as Executive Director of The Conference Board Governance Center®, effective February 2016. In this role, Mr. Chia will lead the Center in its work in the public interest to provide organizations with knowledge and thought leadership on key issues of corporate governance. He is replacing Donna Dabney, who is retiring.
The Governance Center of The Conference Board serves as a resource for objective, nonpartisan, corporate governance thought leadership and research. It is a platform for investors and business leaders to engage and share good governance practices that generate corporate performance and trust.

Doug Chia has held a number of central leadership positions in the corporate governance field, including Chair of the Board of Directors of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, President of the Stockholder Relations Society of New York, and member of the Committee on Corporate Laws of the American Bar Association. Among other recognitions, he has been named Corporate Governance Professional of the Year by Corporate Secretary magazine, Distinguished Corporate Secretary by Corporate Board Member magazine, one of the 100 Most Influential People in Finance by Treasury & Risk magazine, and one of the 100 Most Influential People in Corporate Governance and the Boardroom by NACD Directorship magazine.
Chia presently serves as Assistant General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Johnson & Johnson. Before joining Johnson & Johnson in 2005, he served as Assistant General Counsel, Corporate Secretary of Tyco International, and practiced law with the firms Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP and Clifford Chance. Chia is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Georgetown University Law Center.
