Doug Henderson Joins Oak Hill Advisors As Partner
Will Lead European Performing Credit Business
NEW YORK and LONDON, April 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Oak Hill Advisors, L.P. ("OHA"), today announced that Doug Henderson has joined the firm as Partner. Based in London, Mr. Henderson will lead the firm's European performing credit business and enhance its established distressed capabilities.
Mr. Henderson has more than 25 years of experience and extensive relationships in the leveraged finance market, including the last 12 years in London. He joins OHA from Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he most recently served as Chairman of the European Credit Finance Group in the Investment Banking Division, with oversight of the firm's EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Asia) loan, high yield, restructuring, structured finance and real estate finance businesses. In addition, he was a member of the bank's Firmwide Capital Committee and its Asian Capital Committee and served on the board of Goldman Sachs International Bank. Mr. Henderson joined Goldman Sachs in 1999 and was named partner in 2004. Before that, he co-founded and managed Merrill Lynch Asset Management's first non-investment grade loan fund, which he helped grow to $14 billion in assets across funds focused on senior debt, high yield and distressed securities.
Mr. Henderson will succeed Richard Munn in leading the firm's European performing credit business. After 31 years in the European credit markets, Mr. Munn has decided to step down from his full-time commitment to OHA at the end of 2012. Beginning in 2013, Mr. Munn will become a Senior Advisor for the firm. In this capacity, he will assist in the management of the firm's European investments and the development of its global platform.
Glenn R. August, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of OHA, said, "Doug is a terrific addition to OHA. I have known him for nearly 20 years and believe he is one of the most talented and experienced professionals in the credit markets. He brings deep market knowledge and a great set of relationships to this senior role, as well as an outstanding track record of success. His hire underscores OHA's deep commitment to the European credit markets and our excitement about the opportunities it holds for our investors. We have a uniquely attractive market position in Europe with strong capabilities in both performing credit and distressed debt. The addition of Doug is a meaningful enhancement to our team and to our capabilities."
Mr. Munn joined OHA seven years ago to help establish the firm's London office, serving as Co-Head of European Investments and Managing Director. During his time at OHA, he led the growth of the firm's European business and played an instrumental role in positioning OHA to seize opportunities in both performing and distressed credit.
Bill Bohnsack, President of OHA, said, "On behalf of OHA, I would like to thank Richard for his outstanding efforts over the last seven years. Since the opening of our London office in 2005, he has played several senior roles for us and helped build OHA's European credit business to approximately $3.5 billion of capital. We are supportive of his desire to take on a new role and delighted that he will continue with us as a Senior Advisor."
