DoubleLine Announces Three Hires into its Fund Operations and Institutional Marketing Units
Ignacio Sosa Starts as Director of DoubleLine's Product Solutions Group
LOS ANGELES, May 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- DoubleLine Capital LP today announced the hires of two institutional sales representatives and an open-end mutual funds operations specialist.
Gheorghe Rotar, Jr. has joined DoubleLine as a mutual fund operations specialist. Mr. Rotar, who oversees transfer-agent functions for the DoubleLine Funds, reports to Patrick Townzen, manager of operations at DoubleLine.
Mr. Rotar joined DoubleLine from Newport Beach-based Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) where he was employed since 2007. At PIMCO, he served most recently as supervisor in the firm's funds operations department. His duties there included managing the alternative funds team, onboarding new employees, performing cost/benefit analysis and implementing cost reducing projects across multiple groups. Prior to PIMCO, he was a registered client service associate at the Irvine, CA office of Citi Smith Barney.
At DoubleLine's institutional marketing unit, Christopher Von Bargen recently joined as sales representative responsible for institutions domiciled in the Southeastern United States. Frederick Schachinger will join the institutional market team, effective June 2, with responsibility for the Northeast. They report to Vincent Fiorillo, manager of Global Sales at DoubleLine.
Mr. Schachinger comes to DoubleLine from Deutsche Asset Management in New York where he has served as the team lead for Pension, Foundation and Endowment Sales. He previously served as director of the Global Client Group at BlackRock/Barclays Global Investors. Before BlackRock, Mr. Schachinger was senior business development officer at iShares. His previous employment includes serving as a director at Advisory Research Group, Wayne, PA, and director of manager due diligence at Lockwood Advisors, Malvern, PA.
Mr. Von Bargen comes to DoubleLine from PNC Capital Advisors in Atlanta where he served as a vice president responsible for institutional business development and consultant relations in the Southeast. He previously served as a vice president in the Atlanta office of BNY Asset Management/Bank of New York, where he covered the South as an institutional sales generalist. Before BNY Asset Management, Mr. Von Bargen worked as institutional representative from Atlanta for Gabelli Asset Management, Berger Financial Group, Transamerica Asset Management, C.L. Capital Management and Merrill Lynch.
In other news at DoubleLine, Ignacio Sosa started work Monday as Director of the firm's newly formed Product Solutions Group. Mr. Sosa previously was Executive Vice President for Global Bond Product Management at PIMCO. The Product Solutions Group focuses on three areas. The group contributes to the development of new investment products, engages in discussions with clients and their advisors on existing DoubleLine offerings, and assists in building new business.
