From October 1 through December 31, 2012, Dots will sell an expanded collection of "Girlfriends Giving Back" fashions including: charm bracelets for $5, pink animal print scarves for $8, 2 embellished tee shirts and a sequin tank top at $14.80, and dedicated Dots jeans for $22.80. For each item sold, Dots will donate $1 to $5 to Komen. Last year, Dots raised over $100,000 and hopes to have another strong year to support this important cause. National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an initiative that promotes breast cancer awareness. Except for skin cancers, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the U.S. One in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.. In 2012, it is estimated that among U.S. women there will be 226,870 new cases diagnosed, according to the American Cancer Society.
