doTERRA Wellness Advocates Dedicate Years to Royal Family KIDS Organization
As they are taken from feelings of anxiety and depression to feeling a sense of love and purpose, children are being strengthened through the Royal Family KIDS organization.
PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, Feb. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- After hearing about an opportunity to help foster children through the Royal Family KIDS organization, doTERRA Wellness Advocates Stephen and Clella Fox were eager to help. This organization was created to uplift children in the foster care system primarily through participation in the Royal Family KIDS camp. Volunteers like Stephen and Clella help these campers to feel the love and support that they may not be getting from their everyday lives.
Those who attend the camp are foster children between the ages of 6 and 12 who have been abused or who have been through traumatic experiences. Many children who have been victims of abuse or similar hardships can experience additional emotional and behavioral issues such as anxiety and depression. These feelings of anxiety and depression may stem from a lack of purpose and meaning in life. In order to combat anxiety, depression, and other behavioral and emotional side effects associated with traumatic experiences, children need to know that they are important and loved. The Royal Family KIDS organization is dedicated to doing just this—letting children know that they are loved and that their life has meaning.
The organization is helping struggling foster children see their potential through this camp. The camp experience is a five-day event that is completely free for participants. During camp, each child is given a mentor that will be by their side to uplift them, inspire greater self-esteem in them, and help them have fun. The children also participate in activities such as hiking, swimming, horseback riding, and much more. At the end of the week, these campers walk away with a greater sense of self-worth and purpose in life.
After camp is over, the feelings of positivity the children experienced there can slip away, but the Royal Family KIDS organization has a solution for that too. The organization has created the Clubs and Mentors Program so that foster children can come year round and receive the help, comfort, and joy that they experienced at camp.
For over 15 years, Stephen and Clella have been witnesses to how this program changes the lives of the foster children involved. Now, they have expanded the vision of Royal Family KIDS and are the founders of Royal Family KIDS in Franklin County, Ohio, along with another foster child program called Starfish Alliance.
