doTERRA Wellness Advocate Serves as Counselor for Community Counseling Center

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, Sept. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As a PhD intern practicing clinical psychology and a full-time student at Saybrook University, doTERRA Wellness Advocate Paul Johnson has dedicated his spare time to volunteer with the Community Counseling Center (CCC) in San Luis Obispo County, California. The CCC is an organization that provides short-term, affordable, and professional counseling for people who cannot afford it, but need it for issues ranging from anxiety to chronic mental illness.

Paul is part of a team of qualified volunteers who are trained to assist individuals, couples, and families who are experiencing problems that can be helped by short-term counseling. Many of the people who come to the center suffer from anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and other mental health issues. Problems such as anxiety and depression are common and can be helped with proper counseling. The devotion and services of the CCC help clients to get the assistance they need so that issues like anxiety and depression can be managed or overcome—which can help these individuals function better and enjoy life to the fullest.

Eligible patients can come to the center knowing that their consultations are private and confidential, leaving them feeling a sense of security in confiding their issues to those who work and volunteer at the CCC. The program also provides up to 10 sessions of individual, couple, or family consultations for issues that are suitable for short-term counseling.

For Paul, his efforts at the center are "rewarding beyond words." Their staff of over 75 volunteers is helping others "who suffer internally to feel better about who they are and the life that they have." Since its inception in 1968, the Community Counseling Center and its volunteers have served thousands of people and have truly built and supported families, couples, and individuals through caring service and quality counseling.
