doTERRA Wellness Advocate Contributes to Shared Pregnancy Women's Center

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, Feb. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As president of The Star of the Sea women's circle, doTERRA Wellness Advocate Misty Maynard works with other women in her circle to raise funds for the Baby Bottle Boomerang (BBB) program. The BBB is a program designed to benefit the Shared Pregnancy Women's Center; a support center for women with unexpected or challenging pregnancies. The funds that Misty's circle make go toward helping the center care for women who are seeking help and comfort during their unplanned pregnancies.

With 38 percent of the world's pregnancies being unexpected, there is a growing need for programs and people to assist those experiencing unplanned pregnancies. An unexpected pregnancy can put a lot of unwanted pressure on a woman and can often put her at risk emotionally. Studies show that women with unplanned pregnancies are at a higher risk of emotional side effects such as postpartum depression. This is a type of depression that can affect a woman after the baby is born. Symptoms of postpartum depression include fatigue, anxiety, insomnia, and feelings of hopelessness. Other difficulties that can occur during pregnancy include stress, fear, frustration, and unsure feelings of the future. During these challenging times, it is crucial to have someone to turn to who can help women overcome their difficulties.

Misty's efforts to fundraise for the Shared Pregnancy center is helping these women to receive the care and comfort they may need. The Shared Pregnancy center's entire mission is to provide relief and support to women undergoing unexpected and challenging pregnancies. The center provides free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, counselling on pregnancy options and parenting education, and materials for newborns and toddlers. Through this program, women who are experiencing unexpected pregnancies can receive the care and supplies they need before and after birth and avoid some of the challenges of an unplanned pregnancy.
