doTERRA Wellness Advocate Assists in Providing Quality Healthcare
For low-income individuals experiencing pain, illness, or other health issues, Anchorage Project Access is there to get them the care they need.
PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, March 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- When doTERRA Wellness Advocate Geri Cannon began looking for something to fill her free time, she found Anchorage Project Access. Anchorage Project Access is a program that connects low-income or uninsured individuals to healthcare professionals in the Anchorage area. Geri's volunteer work here ensures that the people who come to the organization seeking help receive the care they need.
Almost one in five Alaskans do not have health insurance. Without a solid income or proper health insurance, getting quality service, or any service at all, can be difficult and sometimes frustrating for those experiencing pain or in need of treatment or medication. For this reason, Anchorage Project Access opened its doors. The program is designed to help low-income and uninsured individuals who are experiencing pain and health issues to receive the best care from local volunteer doctors.
The program is connected to over 500 healthcare professionals who volunteer their time to help individuals seeking the aid of Anchorage Project Access. Once an individual is eligible for the program's assistance, Anchorage Project Access finds the best doctor to help them fix their pains, illnesses, or other health complications. These doctors are dedicated to treating each Anchorage Project patient with the same care and quality that they would provide for any other patient.
Along with the highly skilled volunteer doctors, in-house volunteers, like Geri, are crucial in helping the Anchorage Project Access ensure quality healthcare and positive results post-doctor visits. One of Geri's jobs with Anchorage Project Access is to contact former patients six months after their donated services and inquire about their progress in their medical state, in their lives, and in their jobs. This type of care shows that Anchorage Project Access is focused on more than just the service they provide, they are also concerned about the wellbeing of those they serve. For Geri, her "most gratifying phone calls are with men who were finally able to return to work after knee surgery or other treatments."
Anchorage Project Access is not only connecting individuals with healthcare, they are improving the lives of those they serve through quality service and dedication.
