doTERRA Wellness Advocate and Christian Minister Provides Aid to Struggling Orphanage in Mexico
Janetta Richardson strives to help orphans struggling with infection, poverty, and lack of care in Mexico.
PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, April 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- When doTERRA Wellness Advocate Janetta Richardson sees a need, she doesn't hesitate to help. As a Christian minister, she strives to provide relief and inspiration to all those she meets. Her recent focus of service has left a big impact on Casa Esperanza Para Niños, an institution for children without homes. Located in rural Mexico, the orphanage has very limited resources, and struggles to meet the most basic needs of the children.
Because of these types of circumstances all over the world, most children residing in foreign orphanages will experience malnutrition, environmental deprivation, neglect, and exposure to viruses and disease. With a large number of children living in a small area, an unsanitary environment combined with poor nutrition is the perfect catalyst for breeding and transmitting common infections like a cold, to more serious viral infections like HIV, Hepatitis, and Tuberculosis.
Janetta helps run a voluntary organization dedicated to countering the risk for infection by collecting adequate food, clothing, and school supplies to donate. Volunteers also travel to Mexico to physically upgrade and repair the orphanage, by building new septic systems, out-buildings, and kitchens to provide a cleaner, healthier environment. Janetta has taken charge of the local donations, and recently raised over $300 by raffling off a doTERRA Family Physician Kit. Her efforts stem from a sincere compassion for all people, and each act of service provides hope and comfort to these little lives.
Aside from her efforts to help this orphanage, Janetta has begun projects to raise donations for the homeless living in her small town. Janetta and her husband plan to retire early so that they might continue administering relief by travelling to those in need and organizing service projects to deliver aid. The most important thing Janetta has learned from her service is to be patient, persistent, and never lose faith. "Quality of life outweighs quantity of life," she says. "I won't let people suffer. I will educate and empower everyone who will let me, so that I may help them live a healthier and happier life."
doTERRA Cares is an initiative through which doTERRA International recognizes and raises awareness for Wellness Advocates who contribute to worthy causes worldwide. doTERRA International is thrilled to share Janetta's success and service and recognizes her as this week's doTERRA Cares highlight!
