doTERRA Donates to the Tyler Robinson Foundation's Benefit Gala
Donation to raise foundation awareness is part of doTERRA Cares initiative
PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, Oct. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Tyler Robinson Foundation (TRF) benefit gala on September 24th at the Las Vegas Four Seasons celebrated individuals and organizations who made notable contributions to the foundation this year. The foundation aims to strengthen families both financially and emotionally as they cope with the tragedy of a pediatric cancer diagnosis. TRF provides hope, information, volunteers, financial services, and monetary grants to families across the United States.
The gala included a performance by the popular band, Imagine Dragons. Not only do the band members often participate in charitable events, but they have a special connection to this foundation in particular. While Tyler Robinson was alive, the members of Imagine Dragons formed a relationship with him as he battled cancer. After Tyler passed away, the band created the foundation in hopes of helping other families with children facing cancer. Because of Imagine Dragons' involvement with TRF, the foundation uses the slogan, "Slay Cancer with Dragons."
The benefit gala honored those who have contributed to TRF this year--either through direct efforts and volunteer work, monetary donations, or by raising awareness about pediatric cancer in the community. Aside from recognizing individuals and organizations who have helped TRF, the gala was also designed to raise funds for the future. Along with other companies, doTERRA International donated a gift basket that was used in the gala's silent auction. This auction raised money that will help families, designated by TRF, who are battling cancer.
It is no accident that the gala was held at the end of September, considering that September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Every day, 43 children are diagnosed with cancer, and the average age of diagnosis is six years old. The services that the Tyler Robinson Foundation offers are specifically designed to support real families affected by this statistic--whether they need financial assistance or emotional support.
The money raised at the benefit gala will go toward helping families burdened by the financial and emotional effects of cancer. If you would like to donate to TRF's cause or find out how you can get involved, visit their website.
