doTERRA Donates to Help Homeless Crisis in Seattle

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, Dec. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Due to the increasing and drastic amount of homeless people in the Seattle, Washington, region, the mayor of Seattle recently declared the city to be in a state of emergency. Coupled with this declaration was a call to community members to reach out to those in need and do whatever they could to assist. Citizens have answered this call by volunteering at SHARE/WHEEL's Tent Cities.

SHARE/WHEEL's Tent Cities are communities of up to 100 homeless men and women who take shelter in tents. The SHARE/WHEEL organization gives homeless individuals a safe environment to live in and also helps to feed, clothe, and provide transportation for them. In order to assist SHARE/WHEEL's cause in providing basic needs and comfort for the homeless, doTERRA International donated to help further its work. 

The SHARE/WHEEL organization is helping these people meet very basic needs and is also helping them avoid health risks. By providing warm clothes for the homeless in cold climates such as Seattle, these tent cities are helping to reduce the effects of health issues like cold viruses. Because cold weather can agitate cold viruses and make them worse, it is important to have proper warm clothing to shield from furthering colds. In severe cases, if a cold progresses it can also turn into pneumonia, which can significantly hinder the health of an individual. The tent cities' efforts to provide warm clothes, which are helping reduce the effects of cold viruses, are sustaining the health of individuals in the community. 

Along with offering warm clothes to individuals in need, SHARE/WHEEL and its volunteers is also helping individuals maintain health by providing them with meals, hygiene supplies,  vitamins, pain and cold relief supplies, blankets, sanitizer, and much more. The organization also provides each individual with physical protection by enforcing a strict code of conduct and by having security workers on duty at all hours of the day.
