DOTAuthority.com Advises Interstate Carriers To File 2014 Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) By December 31

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DOTAuthority.com, the trucking industry's premier Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) service provider, announced today that the December 31^st, 2013 deadline to file 2014 Unified Carrier Registration is closing in on interstate motor carriers.

The UCR program is a Federally-mandated, annual state-administered registration program under 49 United States Code (USC) Section 14504a. Fees are based on fleet size and compliance is MANDATORY for all interstate motor carriers, property brokers, forwarders and leasing companies operating in interstate commerce.

Lamb also pointed out that effective November 1, 2013, a new Federal rule allows the USDOT to issue civil penalties of $1,000 per day up to a maximum of $10,000 for interstate carriers that have failed to submit their biennial reports.
