Dot Hill AssuredSAN 3000 Series
Dot Hill will be showcasing its line of award-winning AssuredSAN storage arrays, including its latest offering, the AssuredSAN 3003 storage system. With improved processing power, the 3003 is optimized for demanding workloads and delivers solid performance in VMware environments. Designed with VMware in mind, all AssuredSAN products meet the processing I/O needs for virtualized systems, and offer advanced features to create solutions that are robust, reliable, flexible, scalable, and high performance.
"Our AssuredSAN family is a great complement to high-availability, clustered VMware server environments with demonstrated uptime exceeding five nines of availability due to highly reliable components, dual redundant RAID controllers, dual power supplies and dual fans," said Jim Jonez, senior director of marketing, Dot Hill. "Our proven line of VMware-certified storage solutions provides the highest levels of data protection for today's virtualized environments and leverages VMware's virtual file system and Storage VMotion technologies to perform proactive, non-disruptive storage migration, eliminate virtual machine I/O bottlenecks and free up valuable storage capacity, maximizing IT investments."
The Dot Hill AssuredSAN 3000 Series offers host interface support via 8Gb Fibre Channel, 1Gbit and 10Gbit iSCSI, and 6Gbit SAS for flexibility and performance. In addition, the 3000 Series easily scales with the addition of SAS attached JBODs. Advanced data management features, such as AssuredRemote™ and AssuredSnap™ ensure data protection in the most demanding environments.
The AssuredSAN 3000 Series incorporates a number of eco-friendly features such as drive-spin-down capability and 595-watt 80 PLUS-rated (greater than 80 percent energy efficiency) power supplies for reduced operating costs. Additionally, the arrays feature Dot Hill's patented EcoStor™ "green" battery-free alternative for cache memory, which leverages a combination of super capacitors and flash memory that outlasts traditional batteries nearly fivefold. Business benefits include lower maintenance and disposal costs and reduced server and application down time due to scheduled battery replacement and maintenance.
To date, Dot Hill has sold more than 500,000 storage systems worldwide.
Dot Hill AssuredUVS
Dot Hill will also spotlight solutions for Unified Virtual Storage. The company's AssuredUVS offerings bring the benefits of storage virtualization to the SMB and SME markets by combining the requisite software, servers and storage into a versatile appliance that can consolidate organizations' multi-vendor storage assets, improve storage efficiencies, simplify management and create more IT and business flexibility.
AssuredUVS solutions are dedicated appliances that consolidate and virtualize storage across storage protocols including Fibre Channel and iSCSI for block storage and NFS and CIFS protocols for NAS shares. The appliances also support mixed OS host environments, and mixed storage platforms to support multiple server applications. This enables organizations to manage combinations of block storage and file storage via a common set of data management features such as snapshots, thin provisioning, tiered provisioning, replication, synchronous mirroring, and data migration all from a single user interface.
