Dot Hill Appoints Storage Veteran Kenneth Day as Chief Technology Officer

LONGMONT, Colo., Nov. 8, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dot Hill Systems Corp. (Nasdaq: HILL), a leading provider of unified virtual storage and SAN storage solutions, today announced the appointment of Kenneth F. Day to the position of chief technology officer.

Day will be responsible for orchestrating and driving Dot Hill's product vision and innovation, as well as leveraging the company's extensive research and development talent and intellectual property portfolio. A key initiative of Day's is to help specify the integration of Dot Hill's core technical assets including the AssuredUVS unified virtual storage solutions, AssuredSAN storage arrays and AssuredVRA virtual RAID adapters.

Ken Day has more than 30 years as a respected industry visionary in the architecture, design, and execution of information technology solutions. During his career at IBM, Day provided significant contributions as principal architect that led to substantial growth in key storage segments. His innovations in the creation of IBM's Peer-to-Peer Virtual Tape Storage System revolutionized a new high availability market for IBM tape products.  Day's development leadership has also had a major impact on the modular storage business, data replication and business continuity solutions, and the optical library product family. More recently, Day was the engineering executive manager for LSI Corporation's external storage arrays.  Day has a proven track record in bringing new and innovative storage architectures and solutions to the IT market.
