Dorel Juvenile Group Reveals Industry-Leading Innovation at ABC Kids Expo
LOUISVILLE, Ky., Sept. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dorel Juvenile Group, Inc. (DJG), a division of Dorel Industries Inc. (TSX: DII.B, DII.A) and the nation's largest juvenile products manufacturer, today unveils the latest in child safety and innovation at the ABC Kids Expo (September 23-26, 2011) in Louisville, KY. Leading the industry in safety, innovation and style, Dorel Juvenile Group unveils a comprehensive line-up of products to keep children happy and safe through the first years of life.
The first of its kind, the new Maxi-Cosi® Pria 70 Air Convertible Car Seat exceeds industry standards through innovative technology that extends use while providing the safest ride for children. The Pria 70 Air is the first car seat to feature the revolutionary TinyFit™ System, a removable insert that provides a better fit for both small babies and small cars. With TinyFit™, the Pria 70 Air accommodates children from four to 70 pounds – allowing the same car seat to bring a child home from the hospital and to their first day of school.
"Convertible car seats often pose a problem for parents, as they can be too big for smaller babies and difficult to install rear-facing in a vehicle," said Dave Taylor, President and CEO of Dorel Juvenile Group. "The new TinyFit™ System is a true breakthrough for car seats, allowing children to sit more upright for a better position and safer ride."
In addition to extended use through the TinyFit™ System, the Pria 70 Air car seat is equipped with cutting-edge safety features including Air Protect® Side Impact Technology and the FlexTech™ Energy Management System. Designed to protect children in side impact collisions, Air Protect® provides a state-of-the-art layer of air protection where it is needed most, around the child's head. In addition, the FlexTech™ Energy Management System features an internal design that absorbs and mitigates external force or impact, so children have even more support and protection in the event of a crash.
In addition to industry-leading car seat design, Dorel Juvenile Group introduces innovation across multiple categories at this year's Expo. Highlights include:
Quinny® Moodd Stroller: With its sleek black and white frames, the Quinny® Moodd Stroller is the newest "it" stroller, exuding style for fashion-forward parents. The new folding system folds directly from the parent handle, making it easy to transport and store. In addition, the plush pre-formed cushion and six seat recline positions provide ultimate comfort for baby.
Safety 1st® Satellite™ Deluxe Play Yard: A complete mobile nursery unit, the Satellite™ Deluxe Play Yard now includes a Cozy Bassinet with soothing module, extending use from tiny newborn through the crawling stage. Safety features such as SecureTech™ Technology provide a visible cue to indicate when the play yard is in locked or unlocked position. Additional convenience features include a storage system with three shelves, easy-access hamper and changing area with storage for wipes.
Safety 1st® Sanitation Station: This first-of-its-kind Sanitation Station keeps child health items in one easy-to-access location, allowing children to stay germ-free while en route from daycare, school or soccer practice. The Sanitation Station easily attaches to any car door and features designated pockets for items such as wipes, tissues and sanitizer.
"This year's Expo shows our range and innovation in every aspect of parenting," said Dave Taylor, President and CEO of Dorel Juvenile Group. "From a true revolution in car seat technology to a travel accessory to help keep kids healthy, we're addressing parents' everyday needs with quality products."
