Dorado Software and Sonus Accelerate NFV with Joint Demonstration of MANO Lifecycle Management at NFV World Congress
Integration to Showcase Dorado Redcell MANO Elasticity with Sonus' Virtual Session Border Controller
SAN JOSE, Calif., April 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Dorado Software, Inc., a global provider of resource, performance management and service orchestration solutions for communication service providers, and Sonus Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: SONS), a global leader in secure and intelligent Cloud communications, announced today a joint demonstration showcasing comprehensive service orchestration at NFV World Congress 2016. With this demonstration, communication service providers (CSPs) will be able to view a proven solution that centrally manages, activates and orchestrates Sonus' virtual Session Border Controller (SBC) using Dorado's Redcell portfolio.
Dorado's Redcell MANO is an integrated service orchestration, network management and closed-loop automation suite. Sonus' SBC SWe, a virtual version of their industry-leading SBC 5000 Series and SBC 7000, permits customers to cost-effectively scale their networks to meet the growing demand for secure, real-time voice and video traffic. Together, the partnership offers CSPs improved service agility, quicker time-to-revenue and secure interworking for next generation IP network services like VoLTE, IP trunking, Virtual CPE, and Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS). The demonstration shows a lifecycle scaling exercise triggered by traffic load anomalies in a fully automated and closed loop environment.
"By bringing the Sonus SBC under our Redcell MANO Lifecycle Management, we can help communication service providers centrally manage, activate and orchestrate Sonus' virtual SBC," said Chris Simon, CTO NFV, Dorado Software. "Sonus was one of the first virtualized SBC vendors and proved its commitment to NFV objectives by validating their virtual network function (VNF) with Dorado Software's Redcell MANO platform. Together we are happy to continue to demonstrate our shared commitment to solving real-world NFV challenges."
"The benefits of virtualization include faster time-to-market, more responsiveness to dynamic network demands, and reduced service delivery costs. Today, we are seeing many CSPs looking to take advantage of these benefits by virtualizing their networks, including their SBCs," said John J. Grana, Sonus vice president, Business Development. "Sonus' partnership with Dorado provides CSPs with a comprehensive solution that enables true lifecycle management with automated orchestration of SBC VNFs for scaling and elasticity. We are excited to take part in this demonstration with Dorado as it's an excellent proof point that the NFV movement is maturing."
