Don't Quit(R) Music and Mixed Martial Arts Superstar Randy Couture Brings a Rockin' Workout Playlist to the iTunes Store
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Randy Couture, one of the athletes credited with bringing mixed martial arts into the mainstream of American pop culture and sports, has teamed with Don't Quit Music--the world's first digital music and fitness record label--to create a special downloadable music playlist for high-energy workouts called Don't Quit Music Presents: Randy Couture Mix, Volume 1. The Playlist will be available on February 23, 2010 in the iTunes Store (itunes.apple.com/us/artist/dont-quit-music) and soon thereafter at dontquitmusic.com, coinciding with the site's relaunch.
Following the launch of Couture's role as the spokesperson for the Body By Jake® Tower 200™ exercise system, Body By Jake Founder Jake Steinfeld asked him to develop a playlist for Don't Quit Music.
Said Steinfeld: "I'm psyched that Randy wanted to do this. His mix is a perfect example of what Don't Quit Music is all about. This mix is going to keep you motivated and make you feel great! If you are an MMA fan or looking to fire up your workout Don't Quit Music is just what this DOCTA ordered!"
Don't Quit Music takes the work out of creating your own workout music playlist by giving leading fitness experts access to a phenomenal vault of hit songs and having them do it for you. Launched on January 1, 2009, Don't Quit Music has been greeted with extraordinary success. A promotion with My Coke Rewards exhausted the projected six-month allotment of downloads in only two months. More than 100,000 tracks have been downloaded to date.
Featuring 15 of the Mixed Martial Arts Hall of Famer's own favorite workout songs, Randy Couture Mix, Volume 1 is filled with fun, fist-pumpin', classic rock and dance party R&B hits, from Wang Chung's "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" and Robert Palmer's "Addicted To Love" to Kool & The Gang's "Celebration," Elton John's "Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)" and Smash Mouth's "All Star."
"Music gets my adrenaline going when I'm working out," says Couture, considered the most popular fighter in MMA history, "and I wanted to help others by making available a playlist like one I would listen to. Don't Quit Music is a great idea and I'm really happy to contribute to its goal of making it easier for people to get in shape and stay in shape." A three-time NCAA wrestling All-American, Couture is the only five-time titleholder in Ultimate Fighting Championship history.
Don't Quit Music is a partnership between Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) and Body By Jake Global.
