Don't Miss Out on the Opportunity to Run in the Marine Corps Marathon or 10K for Team Tuesday's Children
MANHASSET, N.Y., July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Join Team Tuesday's Children to raise funds and awareness for the children and families directly impacted by the events of September 11, 2001. The lottery has closed, but if you register with Tuesday's Children before August 11th, you will receive a guaranteed entry in the Marine Marathon or the Marine 10K.
The Marine Marathon, also known as the "People's Marathon," is the fourth largest marathon in the United States. This patriotic event brings together individuals who hail from all corners of the world and boasts a spectacular course through our nation's capital. Beginning in Arlington, Virginia and ending at the Marine Corps War Memorial, runners will pass an array of historical sites that include the National Mall, the Washington Monument, the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, as well as the Lincoln, Jefferson, FDR, Korean War and Vietnam Veteran memorials.
Interested participants will be asked to raise $500 on behalf of Tuesday's Children to run the 26 mile long Marine Marathon and $250 to run the 10 kilometer race. The fundraising commitment supports Tuesday's Children programs such as Mentoring, Career Paths, Helping Heals, Project COMMON BOND and the First Responder Alliance. These programs provide a vital force that address the ongoing and changing needs of the thousands of children and families affected by 9/11. Furthermore, your fundraising commitment will allow us to fulfill "The Promise" of supporting these children into adulthood while sharing our knowledge with other countries impacted by acts of terror.
Due to the limited number of spots available, please RSVP at your earliest convenience to participate in the marathon. Contact Alisha at 516-562-9000 or email at [email protected] to sign up. For more information, please visit www.tuesdayschildren.org.
