Donor Alliance Celebrated for Improving Performance, Achieving Results
Organ procurement organization honored by Rocky Mountain Performance Excellence
DENVER, Oct. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Donor Alliance, the federally-designated, non-profit organ procurement organization and American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) accredited tissue bank serving Colorado and most of Wyoming, today announced its receipt of the Foothills Award from Rocky Mountain Performance Excellence (RMPEx), a nonprofit helping organizations improve performance and achieve results.
RMPEx is a program dedicated to enabling organizations to evolve and succeed through the effective application of Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. Any organization or individual seriously committed to reaping the many benefits of systematic performance improvement can benefit from participating in the RMPEx community. Each year, RMPEx formally recognizes role-model applicants for performance excellence achievements with three levels of awards.
This year Donor Alliance was selected at the Foothills level, in which organizations compete based on their approach to meeting the RMPEx criteria. The criteria are across six key categories: Leadership; Strategic Planning; Customer Focus; Measurement, Analysis, and Knowledge Management; Workforce Focus and Operations Focus.
"Our mission is to save lives through organ and tissue donation and transplantation; with such a weighty charge we eagerly embrace opportunities to improve our performance and results," said Sue Dunn, president and CEO of Donor Alliance. "The Foothills Award application process with RMPEx has allowed us to identify new methods for operational success and will propel us into an even greater organization capable of helping more patients in need."
Donor Alliance was aided in its completion of the RMPEx program application by its COO Jennifer Prinz, who was earlier this year appointed to the 2012 Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. As such, Prinz had a close familiarity with the performance improvement criteria of Baldrige.
RMPEx is funded solely by contributions and operational revenues and is one of over 30 similar state programs that exist throughout the US. The approach is based on the Baldrige criteria for Performance Excellence framework, a proven program that brings innovation and results to any organization.
