Donna Heidel, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Joins Bureau Veritas' Health, Safety, And Environmental Division
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Feb. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Donna Heidel, a certified industrial hygienist and American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) fellow with 25 years of occupational safety and health experience, has joined Bureau Veritas as a senior manager in its Industrial Hygiene practice group. Heidel will take a lead role in Bureau Veritas' continued expansion in the area of employee health and safety associated with emerging technologies, specifically nanotechnology, as well as actively growing the division's ability to assist clients with services related to health hazard/control banding programs.

Heidel joins Bureau Veritas after spending several years with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (CDC/NIOSH), where she developed and worked to implement the national strategy for Prevention through Design (PtD)*. She is a recognized expert in hazard and risk assessment and exposure control related to high toxicity chemicals and emerging technologies, such as engineered nanoparticles and nano-enabled products. In 2011, Heidel received the Federal Service Excellence Award and the AIHA President's Award for accomplishments related to PtD. She frequently lectures at universities, professional conferences, and scientific workshops.
Prior to her work with CDC/NIOSH, Heidel spent 15 years with a major health care company building a world-class, globally-integrated occupational toxicology, industrial hygiene, and safety program consisting of 230 operating companies in 57 countries.
