Apache Corp. Analyst Notes
On June 5, 2014, Apache Corp. (Apache) announced a donation of 4,000 trees to Hike for KaTREEna, a non-profit organization dedicated to replanting trees in New Orleans, in an effort to help the organisation reach a milestone of 25,000 trees planted in the city. Apache's 2014 grant results in a total donation of 13,500 trees to the organization. Students from Tulane University's MBA program planted the donated trees during Hike for KaTREEna's "Give NOLA Day" on May 6, 2014. A Southern Magnolia tree was planted in front of the St. Louis Cathedral and the Cabildo, marking a milestone of 25,000 trees planted by the organization to date. According to the Baker Hughes, Mr. Brenneman held a variety of senior-level management positions at companies like Quiznos, Burger King, PWC Consulting, and Continental Airlines. Presently, Mr. Brenneman serves on Automatic Data Processing's board of directors, is The Home Depot's lead director of the board, and Francesca's Collections Chairman of the board. Meanwhile, Mr. Easter held several leadership, operating, and commercial roles at ConocoPhillips, including areas related to gas and natural gas liquids as well as petroleum refining, marketing, and transportation. Praxair Inc. Analyst Notes
On June 9, 2014, Praxair Inc. (Praxair) announced the start-up of its new 600 tons per day air separation unit in its Memphis, Tennessee. According to Praxair, the facility with state-of-the-art technology, energy efficient processes and argon recovery will serve liquid-product customers, including the region's developing automotive industry. This also expands Praxair's ability to supply gaseous and liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon to customers throughout southeastern United States. "Our new investment strengthens Praxair's position as a leading supplier of industrial gases and will support our growing business in the region," said Jeff Barnhard, East Region Vice President for Praxair's U.S. Industrial Gases. "The plant will further enable Praxair to serve the full spectrum of customer needs, from cylinder gases to bulk and on-site gases."
