Donald R. Lindsay appointed to Manulife Board of Directors

TORONTO, Aug. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Manulife Financial Corporation and The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company announced today that Donald R. Lindsay has been appointed to their Boards of Directors, effective August 1, 2010.

Mr. Lindsay, President and CEO of Teck Resources Limited, brings extensive management, financial services, capital markets and international experience to Manulife's Board. Mr. Lindsay's experience includes almost two decades with CIBC World Markets Inc., where he served as President after periods as Head of Investment and Corporate Banking and Head of the Asia Pacific Region. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from Queen's University and holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
