Don Romano Appointed Chief Marketing Officer for Mazda North American Operations
IRVINE, Calif., March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) today announced that Don Romano has been appointed to the newly created position of chief marketing officer (CMO), MNAO. Romano will continue his responsibilities as president, Mazda Canada, Inc. (MCI), in addition to leading North America's marketing efforts in building the Mazda brand, partnering with outside agencies and reinforcing Mazda's long-term strategic marketing direction throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Since joining Mazda in 2000, Romano has held several key positions within the company and is well groomed for this role. Prior to being named president, MCI in April 2006, Romano was vice president, marketing, MNAO where he was responsible for overseeing brand development, business planning and global integration. Before that he was general manager of business operations for MNAO's Western Region.
Romano will remain in Canada and report to Jim O'Sullivan, president and CEO, MNAO and Keishi "Keith" Egawa, executive vice president and chief operating officer, MNAO.
Celebrating its 40th Anniversary in the United States in 2010, Mazda North American Operations is headquartered in Irvine, Calif. and oversees the sales, marketing, parts and customer service support of Mazda vehicles in the United States, Canada and Mexico through nearly 900 dealers. Operations in Canada are managed by Mazda Canada, Inc., located in Ontario; and in Mexico by Mazda Motor de Mexico in Mexico City.
