-- Work includes 12 projects in seven states where energy company does business
RICHMOND, Va., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- In Ohio, Dominion employees will build an amphitheatre out of stone at the home of the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition offices in Akron. In Wisconsin, they will be extending a boardwalk at an outdoor classroom in Manitowoc. In Connecticut, employees will refurbish the farm at Waterford Country School.
These three projects plus nine more will occur this fall as hundreds of Dominion employees bring their volunteer labor to their neighborhoods as part of the company's 11th annual "Putting Our Energy to Work for the Environment" activity.
"Dominion does more than just supply the energy that powers homes, schools and businesses in our neighborhoods," said William C. Hall Jr., vice president-Corporate Communications and Community Affairs. "Our employees take great pride in donating their time – and a lot of sweat – to step out of their normal work routines and build or spruce up those civic projects that only get done with volunteer help."
The Dominion Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the company, donates $2,500 to each project to cover the cost of needed supplies and equipment.
