Dome9 Security Names Marketing VP, Accelerates Growth of Innovative Cloud Security Service Provider
Dome9 Executive Leadership Team Grows as Company Appoints Former Websense Marketing Leader David Meizlik as Vice President of Marketing
SAN FRANCISCO, June 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dome9 Security™, the only cloud server security service provider delivering multi-platform firewall management-as-a-service for public and private clouds, as well as for dedicated and Virtual Private Servers (VPS), today from the GigaOm Structure 2011 conference announced it has named former Websense marketing leader David Meizlik as vice president of marketing.
Dome9 is a first-of-its-kind service that dynamically manages cloud server security across infrastructure platforms, including Amazon's EC2, RackSpace, GoGrid, and other service providers. Leveraging either its light-weight agent or hosting providers' security APIs, Dome9 dynamically configures firewall access ensuring all administrative ports are closed by default; or opened only when, for whom, and for as long as is required to access the cloud server. Dome9 works for virtual machines in private or public clouds, as well as for dedicated servers, supporting Linux and Windows servers running all virtualization technologies (including VMware, Citrix XEN, KVM, Parallels & Microsoft's Hyper-V).
"The addition of Dave Meizlik, a proven marketing leader, to our executive team further adds to the growing capabilities of Dome9," said Zohar Alon, Dome9 co-founder and CEO. "Dave has a proven track record of success in security marketing, and we will rely on his knowledge and expertise as we ramp up and deliver our innovative products addressing the industry's growing cloud security needs. With this appointment, coupled with our recent funding by Opus Capital Ventures and the early traction we are seeing, Dome9 is off to a roaring start following our recent launch."
Meizlik is a seasoned marketing executive with a strong history of developing and implementing proven marketing programs and go-to-market strategies. He brings more than a decade of marketing and partnership experience to Dome9, and is a recognized expert in IT security, having advised hundreds of customers on security projects. Meizlik routinely speaks at conferences, including at the 2011 RSA Conference in San Francisco, and is quoted frequently in the press. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Southern California.
"I'm pleased to join Dome9 and bring to market such an innovative cloud security service," said Meizlik. "With the explosive growth of cloud computing, enterprise customers and hosting providers need a smarter, more efficient, and more secure way to protect their cloud infrastructure. The Dome9 cloud security solution and its secure access lease technology is the first of its kind, providing dynamic cloud security that is unmatched in the industry."
