NEW YORK, Jan. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Dolores Atallo has joined the New York office of Protiviti (www.protiviti.com), a global consulting firm, as a managing director in its risk and compliance group, where she focuses on clients in financial services and other regulated industries.
A veteran risk management professional, Atallo has 30 years of experience translating emerging business issues into sustainable solutions for clients. She advises board members and senior management in matters of governance, oversight structure and roles, risk appetite, and linkage to strategy, cultural integration and program branding. Atallo is an expert in enterprise risk management, evolving compliance and governance practices, regulatory readiness and communication with ratings agencies, analysts, regulators and investors.

Prior to joining Protiviti, Atallo spent more than 18 years in governance, risk and regulatory strategy at a Big Four firm. Before that, she was a charter member of the in-control services practice at Coopers & Lybrand where her work focused on the linkage between governance, risk management, internal controls and regulatory compliance. Previously, Atallo held leadership positions for financial services firms in the U.S. and the U.K.
Atallo has an MBA in finance from the Graduate School of Business at Rutgers and a bachelor's degree in information management from Rutgers University. She is a Certified Risk Professional (CRP), an advisory board member for the Foundation for a More Accessible Tomorrow and an adjunct professor of risk management and corporate governance at the New Jersey Institute of Technology Graduate School of Management.
